- radar lock -- This mean you keep your radar scanning the opponent every tick. The opposite of radar slip. In 1-verses-1 battles this is very important, so that you can always stay up-to-date on your opponent. -- Simonton
- radar slip -- It means there are some number of turns/ticks (almost synonymous) that pass between successive scans of your opponent. -- Simonton
- tick -- A tick is a single frame of the animation in the Robocode graphical interface. -- [[Rock 'em, sock 'em Robocode: Round 2]] (section: Performing multiple simultaneous actions: Non-blocking method calls)
- turn -- A turn begins when the battle simulator gives your code control (wakes up your thread). The turn ends when you make a thread blocking call, the actions of the Robot class are all blocking calls, turnLeft(), turnRight(), turnGunLeft?(), turnGunRight?(), turnRadarLeft?(), turnRadarRight?(), ahead(), and back(). If you accidentally have an infinite loop or something, your turn can also time out after a few 10s of miliseconds. -- [[Rock 'em, sock 'em Robocode: Round 2]] (section: Performing multiple simultaneous actions: Non-blocking method calls)
