I'm just starting out with robocode, but I've been writing Java for years. My greatest interest in robocode lies in the potential of neural nets and adaptive programming, but I'm still trying to get a grasp on the established methods.

I'm currently working on one bot, Axon?, that involves switching between targeting schemes based on simulated success rates. While it seems that few MultiMode bots are being written these days, I like to think I have a fresh approach. Even if it doesn't work out, I will have written my own pluggable version of the major Targeting schemes.
