• Make use of the 'Debug' and 'Next Turn' controls AND use them with either text debug (e.g. out.println(somevariable)) or paint debug. It helps if you slow down.

  • I use Eclipse... but I'm not sure what you mean by "visual debugger", do you mean something other than drawing debug info on the battle field? --BenHorner
