Should know what it is by the name, a
JustForFun sort of bot to answer a question that was (probably not answered appropriately) on the
RobocodeRepository.
What's special about it?
It gets over a 90% hitrate against
Walls and never loses to it.
Great, I want to try it. Where can I download it?
http://www.robocoderepository.com/BotDetail.jsp?id=1520
How competitive is it?
Against sample.
Walls, it's super-competitive, to the point of winning 100% of the time. It beats
TrackFire and
SittingDuck about 15% of the time, it beats
Tracker about 40% of the time, it beats
SpinBot and
Corners about 20% of the time, It beats
RamFire and
MyFirstRobot about 10% of the time. It can't beat
Target or
Fire, and it can beat
Crazy often enough to win battles.
How does it move?
Funny question. It doesn't. It sits in the same place that it started the whole time.
How does it fire?
It assumes its opponent is
Walls and projects his movement for a firing angle.
Sitting in one place is only dodging bullets if you're up against
WallsKiller.
How does the melee strategy differ from one-on-one strategy?
I don't know, it would probably turn its gun way too much in
Melee.
How does it select a target to attack/avoid in melee?
Doesn't have code for that.
What does it save between rounds and matches?
Nada. Well, hit-rate information gets stored between rounds.
Where did you get the name?
It kills
Walls, thus it is
WallsKiller.
Can I use your code?
Not that it's useful, but feel free...
What's next for your robot?
Nothing.
Hmmm... Not really, I'd call sample.
Tracker a problem bot, though.
What other robot(s) is it based on?
SittingDuck maybe?
